totesport.com Stakes (Heritage Handicap) (Class 2) (3yo,0-105) Winner £52,972.00
A highly competitive sprint handicap for three year olds and low numbers may have a slight edge here although the draw bias is not as bad as it is in many big field sprints. The one to be on here is most probably Trafalgar Bay . An impressive winner at Ascot ’s first meeting of the summer and then unsuited by the way the race unfolded at York when finishing too late. This race is likely to be run to suit and he rates a good bet to get the meeting started. Keep up to date with all the latest racing betting previews here.
UAE Equestrian And Racing Federation Falmouth Stakes (Group 1) (Fillies & Mares) (Class 1) (3yo+) Winner £113,560.00
A disappointing turnout for this race and there is a strong possibility this will be run at a false pace with no front runners in the field. That would suit none of the market principles and the safest option has to be to back the favourite Soviet Song, who has made this race her own over the last few years. Check out the best free bet offers for racing.
TNT July Stakes (Group 2) (Colts & Geldings) (Class 1) (2yo) Winner £
There is only one winner of this race and that is Hoh Mike. Extremely unlucky at Royal Ascot when confidently ridden at the back of the field and then enduring a nightmare passage when making his run all too late compensation surely awaits here. Banker of the meeting.
Princess of Wales ‘s wbx.com Stakes (Group 2) (Class 1) (3yo+) Winner £
Enforcer has been running with much credit this season and it shouldn’t be too long until he opens his account at Group level but backers may have to wait until he encounters a bigger field on slightly softer ground. Mountain High is proven at this sort of level and should go well but don’t discount Linas Selection if he runs. A very impressive Ascot winner and there is still plenty of improvement left.
Ladbrokes Bunbury Cup (Heritage Handicap) (Class 2) (3yo+,0-105) Winner £
It’s should be best to follow those who ran well in defeat in the Royal Hunt Cup at Ascot in similar conditions and the one who stands out on that basis is Akona Matata who should appreciate the drop back to seven furlongs and is still open to improvement. Zidane is favourite but the race he won last time out looks weak and Mine is capable of getting involved after being drawn on the wrong side of the course last time out. Low drawn horses normally hold an advantage so wait until the draw is made before placing your bets.
Darley July Cup (Group 1) (Class 1) (3yo+) Winner £
Aussie raider Takeover Target is rightly favourite after his Ascot heroics but there is one potential improver in La Cucaracha. She was making his seasonal debut in the Kings Stand and did well to finish within a length of the winner after making her run up the wrong side of the course. The winner on that side, Dandy Man has already franked the far side form so a big run is expected, and she should place as a bare minimum. Tuesday’s live fixture sees West Ham travel to Coventry seeking progression to the fifth round of the competition. Coventry haven’t been performing to well of late having started their league campaign strongly and West Ham are reasonably priced at 11/10 with Bet365. More enticing however is the 2-1 scoreline which is 7/1 with Betfred. Check out all the latest football betting tips here.
The pick of Wednesday’s games is probably the all Premiership tie involving Portsmouth and Blackburn . They are both well organised sides and a 1-1 draw would not be a massive surprise and that is best priced at 6/1 with Betfred. The draw is 12/5 with Betfred. Betfred offer a generous £50 free bet.
The other all Premiership game has Manchester City facing a short journey to Bolton ’s Reebok Stadium. Sven’s men will be keen to put their 6-0 drubbing against Chelsea behind them but Gary Megson has tried to emulate Big Sam Allardyce’s tactics at Bolton and this can see them returning to be hard to beat, especially at home. The Bolton 1-0 scoreline looks highly appealing at 7/1 with Totesport.
In the outright market Arsenal look the best bet, currently priced at 5/1 with Betfred. All the favourites face relatively easy games in the fourth round, with Arsenal probably having the hardest task at Sheffield United. Presuming they make it through ok, they should be backed with a degree of confidence due to the strength of their reserve side that often features in this competition.
Chelsea are currently favourites for the tournament at best odds of 3/1 with totesport. The same firm are also best odds 4/1 about Liverpool who have a good record in recent seasons in the league cup.

Liverpool arguably have the biggest tie of the round with a must win game at home to Porto . Poor results so far have left them needing maximum points to have a chance of qualifying and although Porto are no mugs, Liverpool should have just enough to see the Portuguese side off. Both sides base their success on a strong defence so we are likely to see a cagey match with just one or two goals. The 1-0 home win appeals most of the correct score bets and that outcome is 11/2 with Bet365. Steven Gerrard scored a screamer against Newcastle at the weekend and he should be backed in the first goalscorer market at 7/1 with VC Bet. Check out all the latest football betting tips here.
Arsenal are already through and have a left a few first team players out of the squad but should still be fairly strong for their trip to Sevilla. Arsenal are the better side but Sevilla have a decent home record so it may be best to back the draw at 23/10 with Bet365. If the game is a draw the most likely scoreline is 1-1 and that should be backed at 11/2 with Blue Square.
Manchester United are another side who have already secured their qualification and they have a couple of injuries, most notably Wayne Rooney, for their game against Sporting Lisbon. They beat them 1-0 in Lisbon and should be able to repeat the scoreline again at 11/2 with Blue Square. Cristiano Ronaldo was missed at the weekend but should return and he should be backed to score the first goal at 6/1 with VC Bet.
The final match is Chelsea ’s trip to Rosenborg, a side they drew against in Jose Mourinho’s final game as manager. This should be a comfortable victory for Chelsea and 2-0 is the most likely socreline which is worth a bet at 6/1 with Totesport. Frank Lampard scores plenty of goals in the Champions League and this game seems a decent opportunity for him to add to his tally. VC Bet got 13/2 about a Frank Lampard first goal and that may be the bet of the week.

Weekend football betting tips for 28th & 29th October
This week’s football betting tips focus on the Championship and football league, where we believe the best value lies for punters. Keep up to date with all our football betting tips here.
Despite there being a full programme of midweek Premiership fixtures, the value for winning money comes in the lower divisions with our free betting tips. This weeks banker comes in the form of Millwall at home to Hereford. The Lions have taken 13 points from a possible 18 at the New Den so far this season, including an impressive high victory over high flying Leeds last time out. Hereford meanwhile lie one place off the foot of the table. There main problem appears to be scoring goals, just 8 goals from 13 games, and only two of those on the road. With just a single point gained on their travels this season, Hereford won’t be looking forward to the trip to the New Den.
Paddy Power offer stand out best odds of 8/15 on Millwall.
In League 2 the divisions draw specialists meet, and surprise surprise we are tipping a draw! Notts County have drawn 5 from 6 this at home so far this season, and another draw looks set to be on the cards as they entertain Rochdale, another mid-table side who have drawn 4 of their 6 league games on the road.
Betfred and Skybet both offer the best odds off 12/5 on this game ending all square.
4pts Millwall @ 8/15
2pts Notts County and Rochdale to draw @ 12/5

Weekend football betting tips 25/10/08
The best bet of the Championship this weekend looks like Cardiff to draw with bottom club Nottingham Forest. Despite Cardiff currently being in the play-off spot, seven of their 12 league games this season have ended in a draw. Closer inspection of this record shows that on the road, Cardiff have drawn five of their six fixtures. Although Forest currently rooted to the foot of the table, their home record isn’t that bad with one victory and three draws from 6 games, including some difficult fixtures including Burnley, Reading. Forest’s downfall is their away form, which leads us to believe a draw is a great value bet at 12/5 with Bet 365 and Sky Bet. Check out the latest free bet offers from leading UK bookmakers before you bet.
In League 2 we fancy Gillingham to beat Chester. Gillingham have been one of the most inconsistent teams this season, boasting a 5-0 victory and 7-0 defeat in their open ten games. However, at home they are a solid outfit, collecting 13 points from a possible 18, and keeping clean sheets in four of their six games. The visitors to The Priestfield Stadium on Saturday are Chester, who were thrashed 6-1 in midweek against mid table Rochdale. That takes Chester’s goals conceded to 18 on the road this season in just six games, a record we think makes them very vulnerable on Saturday.
Gillingham are best odds 8/11 with Betfred and Paddy Power.
Reccomended bets: 2pts Cardiff to draw. 3pts Gillingham to win. 1pt double

This week is the third week of this season’s Champions League Group Stage and the biggest match is probably north of the border where Rangers face Barcelona . Both sides would probably take a draw at this stage and the 11/4 on offer at Bet365 will carry many punters’ cash. Check out all the latest football betting news here.
On Tuesday Arsenal face as close to a penalty kick as you get in the Champions League when they face Slavia Prague at the Emirates Stadium. The 1/5 about a home win doesn’t appeal but the 15/2 on a 3-0 win with VC looks a good bet.
On the same night Manchester United travel to Ukraine to face Dynamo Kiev and despite these trips never being easy, Kiev aren’t a great side and Manchester United should maintain their 100% Champions League group record this year. 2-0 is the call and that outcome is 15/2 at Betfred.
On Wednesday Liverpool face a trip to Besiktas. The Turks were put in their place by Spurs last season so it is difficult to see them getting a result against Liverpool . Fernando Torres should start for Liverpool and he is fancied to score first at 5/1 with Coral.
Also on Wednesday Chelsea host Schalke. The Germans are a good side on the road, unbeaten in five Bundesliga games and winning their only Champions League Group Stage match at Rosenborg. They are yet to face a side as strong as Chelsea and a 1-0 home win is a confident tip at 11/2 with Blue Square.

The Saturday lunchtime fixture between Everton and Liverpool at Goodison Park catches the eye and is sure to be a great game. With Liverpool stuttering in the league and Steven Gerrard seemingly out of sorts it looks time to back Everton, especially at 13/5 with Bet365. At a big price in the first goalscorer market, take a look at Joleon Lescott. He has already scored five goals this season so the 25/1 on offer with a Blue Square looks rather generous.
The evening fixture on Saturday sees Manchester United travel to Villa Park and United look a worthwhile punt at 4/5 with Blue Square. They finally seem to be gelling and with the likes of Wayne Rooney in form they should be very hard to beat. Knowing that Aston Villa would see a draw as a point gained rather than two points lost it is not hard to envisage them setting themselves out in a defensive manner. This makes the 1-0 win for United an appealing bet at 6/1 with Betfred.
On Monday night Spurs travel to Newcastle and this looks like a high scoring game bearing in mind neither side can defend but both sets of strikers know where the goal is. Bet365 have priced up the 3-3 draw at 66/1 and bearing in mind Newcastle won 3-1 and 3-2 against Spurs last season and Spurs drew 4-4 the last time they played on a Monday night it looks a little bit of value. At a shorter price, Bet365 are also offering 15/8 on more than 3.5 goals and this looks a lower risk bet that has to be backed.

When it comes to Premiership betting online bookmakers tend to have the games priced up so that it is very difficult to find value. However, this weekend there is one bet that stands out which is Sunderland. The Black Cats have made a bright start under Steve Bruce, with Darren Bent already forming a good strike force with Kenwyne Jones. With 2 wins already this season from a tricky start, Sunderland are looking like a side who will finish in the top half.
Hull may have 4 points from 4 games, but those points have come against Bolton and Wolves, 2 teams who are likely to be scrapping it out in a relegation with Hull at the end of the season. With best odds 5/6 with Bet 365 this looks like a great bet.
Another value bet in the Premiership this weekend looks like West Ham to win at Wigan. The Hammers have already played 2 away games this season collecting 4 points and keeping clean sheets in both of them. Under Zola they look a solid outfit and should possess too much class for Wigan.
Under new boss Roberto Martinez Wigan started with a surprise victory at Aston Villa. Since then Wigan have lost 3 on the bounce include a home defeat by Wolves. Wigan were also thumped 4-1 in the League Cup by Blackpool. At best odds of 12/5 with Bet 365, West Ham look like cracking value.

The lunchtime kick off on Saturday should be a game to look forward to as old rivals Sunderland and Newcastle lock horns at the Stadium of Light. Newcastle have been pretty poor of late and aren’t great on the road whilst Sunderland have performed ok at home so far this season and will fancy themselves to get something out of the game. Sunderland might shade it but I think the draw is a better bet at 23/10 with Totesport. If you fancy a crack at the correct score then 1-1 has to be the pick at 11/2 with Betfred whilst Kenwyne Jones can score the first goal and is 6/1 with Bet365. Check out a full selection of football betting previews here.
Saturday’s evening kick off sees Liverpool host serial drawers Fulham. Fulham would be very happy with a point here but they are unlikely to get it and it’s hard to see anything apart from an easy Liverpool victory. 3-0 looks about right and the 15/2 on offer with VC Bet looks a fair price. Peter Crouch hasn’t been playing many games recently but his performance in Europe during the week might sway Rafa Benitez’s mind and he looks worth a bet to score first at 5/1 with Betfred. Don’t forget that if he doesn’t play you will get your stake back.
On Sunday there is another derby with Birmingham facing Aston Villa. Villa are yet to win away this season and as many local derbys end up in draws it looks sensible to stick with that outcome. 11/5 is the price with Bet365 and it should also be worth backing no goalscorer at 8/1 with Stan James. Birmingham have failed to score in two of their home matches already this season.
In yet another local game Blackburn face a short trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United where a good result is not unfamiliar to Mark Hughes. He had plenty of them as a Manchester United player but has also won his fair share of matches there as a manager. Having said that, now is not the time to be facing Manchester United as they are in formidable form and it is hard to look past the home side. A 2-0 home win looks a fair call and is 11/2 with Stan James. There are many players capable of scoring for Manchester United so it looks a safer bet to have a go at the anytime goalscorer market with Carlos Tevez at 11/8 with Bet365.

Saturday’s early kick off sees Aston Villa take on Newcastle at Villa Park . Villa may have been beaten against Fulham last week but Newcastle are unbelievably poor and Aston Villa should be able to stroll to victory. Totesport are 5/6 about a home win and I strongly suggest you snap that up before the bookies realise their mistake. Normally you would back Agbonlahor to score first but he is out injured so back Ashley Young who is as big as 10/1 with Betfred. This certainly doesn’t appear as a game that is likely to produce many goals and Villa are worth backing to win 1-0 at 6/1 with Betfred. View more football betting tips here.
Sunday is a big day for the Premiership with the Manchester derby starting proceedings. City are beginning to get found out whilst United seem to be going from strength to strength. It is very hard to look past a United victory but the 3/10 with Totesport offers no value. You can back United to win by two goals or more in the handicap with Bet365 at 5/6 and this looks a much better bet considering how freescoring United are. With Wayne Rooney suspended their is going to be even more focus on Cristiano Ronaldo and he has to be backed at 5/6 with Blue Square to score at anytime during the match. If you fancy a go on the correct score market then look no further than a 2-0 home win as City have looked toothless up front recently and even the acquisition of Benjani shouldn’t trouble United’s defence. The 2-0 scoreline is 11/2 with Blue Square .
The second game on Sunday afternoon is Chelsea versus Liverpool at Stamford Bridge . This has traditionally been a tight affair but under Avram Grant Chelsea have looked a more attacking force. Liverpool have not looked good for a couple of months now and losing Torres to injury is a massive blow. Kuyt and Voronin is potentially one of the worst strike parnerships in the Premiership as far as goalscoring is concerned and Chelsea should be able to keep them quiet on their way to victory at evens with VC Bet. There is one man and one man only who should be backed to score the first goal and that is Nicolas Anelka who has looked very sharp since his move form Bolton . Totesport have him at 5/1 which looks a solid bet.
On Monday Blackburn travel to the Emirates Stadium to take on Arsenal and this is a fixture Arsenal have struggled in over recent years as Blackburn often make the most of their physical game. I can see this game finishing a draw at 7/2 with Stan James. Stan James are also best priced about a 1-1 draw and 9/1 looks a pretty fair bet considering it is normally around the 11/2 mark. Blackburn have relied heavily on Roque Santa Cruz to score their goals this season and he has a terrific away record so back him to score first at 10/1 with Bet365.
