The Saturday lunchtime fixture between Everton and Liverpool at Goodison Park catches the eye and is sure to be a great game. With Liverpool stuttering in the league and Steven Gerrard seemingly out of sorts it looks time to back Everton, especially at 13/5 with Bet365. At a big price in the first goalscorer market, take a look at Joleon Lescott. He has already scored five goals this season so the 25/1 on offer with a Blue Square looks rather generous.
The evening fixture on Saturday sees Manchester United travel to Villa Park and United look a worthwhile punt at 4/5 with Blue Square. They finally seem to be gelling and with the likes of Wayne Rooney in form they should be very hard to beat. Knowing that Aston Villa would see a draw as a point gained rather than two points lost it is not hard to envisage them setting themselves out in a defensive manner. This makes the 1-0 win for United an appealing bet at 6/1 with Betfred.
On Monday night Spurs travel to Newcastle and this looks like a high scoring game bearing in mind neither side can defend but both sets of strikers know where the goal is. Bet365 have priced up the 3-3 draw at 66/1 and bearing in mind Newcastle won 3-1 and 3-2 against Spurs last season and Spurs drew 4-4 the last time they played on a Monday night it looks a little bit of value. At a shorter price, Bet365 are also offering 15/8 on more than 3.5 goals and this looks a lower risk bet that has to be backed.

When it comes to Premiership betting online bookmakers tend to have the games priced up so that it is very difficult to find value. However, this weekend there is one bet that stands out which is Sunderland. The Black Cats have made a bright start under Steve Bruce, with Darren Bent already forming a good strike force with Kenwyne Jones. With 2 wins already this season from a tricky start, Sunderland are looking like a side who will finish in the top half.
Hull may have 4 points from 4 games, but those points have come against Bolton and Wolves, 2 teams who are likely to be scrapping it out in a relegation with Hull at the end of the season. With best odds 5/6 with Bet 365 this looks like a great bet.
Another value bet in the Premiership this weekend looks like West Ham to win at Wigan. The Hammers have already played 2 away games this season collecting 4 points and keeping clean sheets in both of them. Under Zola they look a solid outfit and should possess too much class for Wigan.
Under new boss Roberto Martinez Wigan started with a surprise victory at Aston Villa. Since then Wigan have lost 3 on the bounce include a home defeat by Wolves. Wigan were also thumped 4-1 in the League Cup by Blackpool. At best odds of 12/5 with Bet 365, West Ham look like cracking value.
The lunchtime kick off on Saturday should be a game to look forward to as old rivals Sunderland and Newcastle lock horns at the Stadium of Light. Newcastle have been pretty poor of late and aren’t great on the road whilst Sunderland have performed ok at home so far this season and will fancy themselves to get something out of the game. Sunderland might shade it but I think the draw is a better bet at 23/10 with Totesport. If you fancy a crack at the correct score then 1-1 has to be the pick at 11/2 with Betfred whilst Kenwyne Jones can score the first goal and is 6/1 with Bet365. Check out a full selection of football betting previews here.
Saturday’s evening kick off sees Liverpool host serial drawers Fulham. Fulham would be very happy with a point here but they are unlikely to get it and it’s hard to see anything apart from an easy Liverpool victory. 3-0 looks about right and the 15/2 on offer with VC Bet looks a fair price. Peter Crouch hasn’t been playing many games recently but his performance in Europe during the week might sway Rafa Benitez’s mind and he looks worth a bet to score first at 5/1 with Betfred. Don’t forget that if he doesn’t play you will get your stake back.
On Sunday there is another derby with Birmingham facing Aston Villa. Villa are yet to win away this season and as many local derbys end up in draws it looks sensible to stick with that outcome. 11/5 is the price with Bet365 and it should also be worth backing no goalscorer at 8/1 with Stan James. Birmingham have failed to score in two of their home matches already this season.
In yet another local game Blackburn face a short trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United where a good result is not unfamiliar to Mark Hughes. He had plenty of them as a Manchester United player but has also won his fair share of matches there as a manager. Having said that, now is not the time to be facing Manchester United as they are in formidable form and it is hard to look past the home side. A 2-0 home win looks a fair call and is 11/2 with Stan James. There are many players capable of scoring for Manchester United so it looks a safer bet to have a go at the anytime goalscorer market with Carlos Tevez at 11/8 with Bet365.

Saturday’s early kick off sees Aston Villa take on Newcastle at Villa Park . Villa may have been beaten against Fulham last week but Newcastle are unbelievably poor and Aston Villa should be able to stroll to victory. Totesport are 5/6 about a home win and I strongly suggest you snap that up before the bookies realise their mistake. Normally you would back Agbonlahor to score first but he is out injured so back Ashley Young who is as big as 10/1 with Betfred. This certainly doesn’t appear as a game that is likely to produce many goals and Villa are worth backing to win 1-0 at 6/1 with Betfred. View more football betting tips here.
Sunday is a big day for the Premiership with the Manchester derby starting proceedings. City are beginning to get found out whilst United seem to be going from strength to strength. It is very hard to look past a United victory but the 3/10 with Totesport offers no value. You can back United to win by two goals or more in the handicap with Bet365 at 5/6 and this looks a much better bet considering how freescoring United are. With Wayne Rooney suspended their is going to be even more focus on Cristiano Ronaldo and he has to be backed at 5/6 with Blue Square to score at anytime during the match. If you fancy a go on the correct score market then look no further than a 2-0 home win as City have looked toothless up front recently and even the acquisition of Benjani shouldn’t trouble United’s defence. The 2-0 scoreline is 11/2 with Blue Square .
The second game on Sunday afternoon is Chelsea versus Liverpool at Stamford Bridge . This has traditionally been a tight affair but under Avram Grant Chelsea have looked a more attacking force. Liverpool have not looked good for a couple of months now and losing Torres to injury is a massive blow. Kuyt and Voronin is potentially one of the worst strike parnerships in the Premiership as far as goalscoring is concerned and Chelsea should be able to keep them quiet on their way to victory at evens with VC Bet. There is one man and one man only who should be backed to score the first goal and that is Nicolas Anelka who has looked very sharp since his move form Bolton . Totesport have him at 5/1 which looks a solid bet.
On Monday Blackburn travel to the Emirates Stadium to take on Arsenal and this is a fixture Arsenal have struggled in over recent years as Blackburn often make the most of their physical game. I can see this game finishing a draw at 7/2 with Stan James. Stan James are also best priced about a 1-1 draw and 9/1 looks a pretty fair bet considering it is normally around the 11/2 mark. Blackburn have relied heavily on Roque Santa Cruz to score their goals this season and he has a terrific away record so back him to score first at 10/1 with Bet365.

For some sides this week’s Champions League game is an opportunity to guarantee qualification and for others it a must win game to keep hopes of qualification alive. Check out all the latest football betting tips in our football section.
The one side who is desperate for a win is Liverpool who will be looking at a UEFA Cup run at best if they fail to do so. Betfred’s 2/7 makes no appeal considering how much Liverpool have struggled and a much better bet comes in the correct score market where Liverpool are 6/1 to win 1-0 with Bet365. Liverpool haven’t exactly been scoring for fun recently and Besiktas are no mugs, even away from home where their significant home advantage is lost.
Another side well capable of scraping a 1-0 win are Celtic who host Benfica. Celtic have a very strong home record in Europe and rarely concede. Meanwhile Benfica continually struggle to score with all of their goals coming in the last five minutes of their games. Celtic should just shade this and 1-0 is well worth a bet at 6/1 with Bet365.
Also on Tuesday Chelsea travel to Germany to face Schalke and one man who has a point to prove to many is Frank Lampard who seems to have fallen foul of his international fans. Since his return from injury he has been scoring for fun and at 15/2 with Betfred to open the scoring he looks a good value bet. The 11/10 about a Chelsea win at Blue Square is also worth considering.
On Wednesday Rangers face Barcelona at the Nou Camp and Barcelona should win this one comfortably. Thierry Henry should get the bulk of the chances and he is confidently selected to score the first goal at 4/1 with Blue Square.
Manchester United host Dynamo Kiev having beaten them easily a couple of weeks ago and this could be a bit of a rout. Deciding how many United will score is no enviable task so stick to backing anytime goalscorers. Wayne Rooney is 6/5 and Cristiano Ronaldo is 6/4. Back both and just one of them scoring will yield a profit, although both should score.
Finally, Arsenal travel to Slavia Prague having already put seven past them at the Emirates Stadium. There is no stopping the Gunners at the moment and certainly no stopping their sensational midfielder Cesc Fabregas. He has to be backed to score the first goal at 15/2 with Bet365. You can back each way for extra security, he is bound to be amongst the goals, of which there should be many.
Weekend football betting tips for 1st November
Burnley are the surprise package of the Championsip, and currently occupy 5th place. They proved their promotion credentials in midweek by beating fellow promotion favourites Reading at Turf Moor. We will be backing them to win again on Saturday when they entertain Norwich. Having won 7 of their last 11 games, and at Turf Moor have already knocked Premiership side Fulham out of the League Cup.
Paddy Power offer stand out best odds of 8/15 on Millwall.
In League 2 the divisions draw specialists meet, and surprise surprise we are tipping a draw! Notts County have drawn 5 from 6 this at home so far this season, and another draw looks set to be on the cards as they entertain Rochdale, another mid-table side who have drawn 4 of their 6 league games on the road.
Betfred and Skybet both offer the best odds off 12/5 on this game ending all square.
Recommended bets:
4pts Millwall @ 8/15
2pts Notts County and Rochdale to draw @ 12/5

After the hectic activity of transfer deadline day it is great to get back to real football. The tie of the weekend is possibly Spurs versus Manchester United where arguably the best player in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo, will be strutting his stuff. No player in Premier League history has scored as many goals as he has at this stage in the season and if you fancy him to score again he is 11/8 with Totesport to net anytime. It seems inevitable that both sides will score and the over 2.5 goals bet at 4/6 with Bet365 looks a certainty, even at restrictive odds. United might just edge this game 2-1 and if you fancy that as a scoreline then take the 7/1 with Betfred.
The early kick off on Saturday takes place at Eastlands when Man City take on Arsenal. There is no denying City are going through a blip and the 5/6 about an away win with Totesport looks well worth a bet. Emmanuel Adebayor is only being kept off the top of the scoring charts by Cristiano Ronaldo and he rates a fair bet to score first at odds of 9/2 with Stan James. Finally, it seems unlikely that City will score, especially if the transfer of Benjani isn’t settled by then, so back Arsenal to win 2-0 at 7/1 with Betfred.
In the Saturday evening fixture stuttering Liverpool take on relegation threatened Sunderland. Roy Keane will have his players well up for this match and with Liverpool ’s poor recent form and tendency to draw the 4/1 with VC Bet about a stalemate looks overpriced. New Sunderland signing Rade Prica looked lively on his debut and he looks the value bet in the anytime goal market at 4/1 withBet365.
Sunday’s best match is the derby between Newcastle and Middlesbrough. Boro have improved markedly over recent weeks and with the signing of Alfonso Alves they have a striker capable of matching their ambitions. Newcastle are yet to score under new manager Kevin Keegan and the Toon Army look worth taking on at the odds and Boro should be backed at 3/1 with Stan James.

Middlesborough are second favourites for the UEFA Cup after overcoming Italian giants Roma.
Steve McClaren’s men are as short as 3/1 following that famous victory, although a number of bookmakers including SportingOdds and Totesport are offering odds of 4/1 on Boro.
Leading the market are German side Schalke, as short as 5/2 with Ladbrokes, but available at best odds 3/1 with Stan James. Next up in the betting, joint favourites with Middlesborough, are Spanish outfit Sevilla at 4/1. Check out all of these odds and tips in our football betting section, which provides regular match previews with detailed analysis and insight, helping you place profitable bets.
Middlesborough will attract plenty of support in the betting because they have arguably the easier draw, facing Swiss side Basle in the Quarter Final, and then the winners of the Steaua Bucharest and Rapid Bucharesti game in the semi’s. This means they wouldn’t have to play either of the big two Sevilla or Schalke until the final.
The full betting for the UEFA Cup Quarter Final is as follows:
