Champions League betting – FC Twente vs Spurs
FC Twente vs Spurs betting preview, odds and tips
FC Twente Champions League Form: DLDWL League Position: 3rd
Dutch side FC Twente cannot qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League after defeat to Inter Milan on match day 5 but they are assured of a Europa League spot. They will however, be looking to go out on a high and may well play with a little bit more freedom, knowing there is less pressure. Midfield playmaker Theo Janssen is the danger man for Twente after scoring two goals in the competition so far, and their top Champions League scorer is a good price at 4/1 with William Hill to find the net at any time. While the current Dutch Champions are going well in the Eredivisie League and are second only on goal difference behind PSV Eindhoven.
Tottenham Champions League Form: DWLWW League Position: 1st
Tottenham can cap off their fantastic first Champions League campaign by claiming top spot in Group A if they can match Inter Milan’s result at Werder Bremen. Spurs will take heart from an impressive 4-1 victory against their opponents in September and will be looking to get the win to secure their passage. Winger Gareth Bale is Spur’s top scorer in the competition with 4 goals to his name, and the Welshman is a really good price at 9/1 with Victor Chandler to open the scoring on the night. David Bentley and Robbie Keane are doubts for the visit to Holland, while Tom Huddlestone, Jermaine Jenas, Younes Kaboul, Ledley King and Rafael Van Der Vaart should all miss out through injury.
Match Prediction: Tottenham WIN 5/4 William Hill
Spurs have saved their best performances for the Champions League this season and should be too strong for FC Twente on Tuesday evening. Although Tottenham’s defensive problems may haunt them again with several players out injured, meaning a 3-1 win for Redknapp’s men is a great bet at 20-1 with BlueSq. While Jermain Defoe has made his comeback from injury in recent weeks and William Hill are offering 9/4 for him to score at any time and Tottenham to go on to get the win. Although on the other hand Twente’s top league scorer Marc Janko is showing good odds of 15/2 with Victor Chandler to get the last goal.
Gareth Bale to score first – 9/1 Victor Chandler
Tottenham to win 3-1 – 20/1 BlueSq
Theo Janssen to score at any time – 4/1 William Hill
